Okay.. as many of you know the MudRevolution will be restarting soon. I want to make a few things clear before most jump to hastey conclusions. First off, whether you like me or not, MudRev is MudRev. It will stand alone and it will continue to stand alone. If you choose not to particpate merely because I run the show, then your the one missing out on one of the greatest edited muds ever, simple as that. I could care less how much you hate me, or whatever problem I had with you in the past, my job is to simply run the BBS. Thats my Job, not to play the damn game, not to interfere and set up meaningless gay groundrules like no swearing. I'm there to make sure that it's the best MMud ever..



I am here to make the game fun for you. Everyone now adays thinks they can be a f'ing sysop because the files are so easily accessible. They are wrong. Everyone who says to themselves "Im gonna quit this BBS and start my own the way it should be ran!" ... Then you are wrong. Everybody starts up there mediocre crap, half-assed without thinking it through.. Then wants to be "everyones buddy" so you up exp and insert horrible uber items that completely ruin gameplay. I am here to give balance and when somethings needs nerfing, im not gonna pussy out because I like you, im gonna nerf it. If somethings there that throws the game off and makes it unfair for other users, Im gonna fix it. None of this "Let it slide" crap. That's how so many great BBS's go down the drain.



"MudRev is Boring." .... If this is a comment that has come out of your mouth.. your likely an idiot. MudRev has over 15,000 rooms added to the original MMud database. It has over 200 bosses added from all level ranges. I made the entire game playable to lev 255 for 25 different classes. Now if your going to try to tell me you get bored, or MudRev has nothing to do... then its either 1 of 2 things. 1) I am too lame to explore for myself and All I do is sit in the Halls of Dead and ask to be powerleveled at bosses. or 2) I never got above lev 100 and I gave up because I am too weak to play in a realm that has gameplay due to the fact that ive been babied and pampered by snuggling up under Sysop ass for so many years.



I've added new things... The textblocks are completely fixed for all 25 classes, up through 7 or 8 alignment quests... When finished, there will be a total of 10 alignment quests (Thank you Demostheses)..Ive added atleast 10 side quests ranging from levs 20 up to 250.. If you want to explore a realm that is'nt full of cheezy edits and uneducated hexing, then you've got alot waiting for you at MudRev. Most people say they know everything there is about MudRev, Most people are wrong. No ONE (including me) has seen everything this realm has to offer. Especially with the reset and some changes occuring, should put alot of new twists which make you glued to the keys for hours.



Oh.. and Raiden.. I've seen your work, I could re-do your Boink Machine in less than an hour.. So don't even try to bash intelligence, because my work speaks for itself..(btw.. What does Immaturity have to do with Intelligence? Look at Erek) Do you think I give a damn about your opinion? I know you don't give a damn about mine... but here it is.. Your BBS has lame rules and its VERY mediocre. but were not talking about your BBS are we.. were talking about mine, and im a fellow Op! .. I wouldn't say that.. Theres nothing 'fellow' about us. I run MudRevolution, you run another BBS. And If people don't want to play there just because of me, It's there own loss.. And when all the other BBS's shut down, MudRev will still be standing. So.. Go ahead, make your own judgements.. your own choice.. But no matter how immature, conceited or an asshole I am, You can't deny the fact that MudRevolution.. is the MajorMUD Revolution.



If you think I'm trying to get on here to bash other BBS's to make mine look good.. Your wrong. My BBS speaks for itself and Im doing nothing more then giving my opinion of another BBS when I attempted to join it. Im simply stating the facts and the opinions. The fact is MudRevolution is restarting.. My opinion is that other BBS's aren't comparable. If you think I'm full of myself and have a big head.. Sure I do.. When you add 15,000 rooms and make a game playable to level 255 and throw in everything else ive done.. I'd hope youd have room to talk, Since I've never seen anyone else do it. If you think I'm an ass, I don't care. If you love me and want to be my friend, I REALLY won't care. I am here to give neutral judgement and run a realm PROPERLY(no bullshit). I can hate you outside of my BBS, but once you step into my Realm youll be treated just like everyone else. (Except Moo.) So if you are fed up with the gay 'no swearing' rules.. or the ever lamer Deathpile rules.. or Perhaps another cheating Op, or ANOTHER abusive Sysop.. basically everything that happened to me in the past, will not happen at MudRev.



So go ahead and flame me among yourselves... It really upsets me oo0o0o0o As you can tell.. and Unlike Erek im not demanding respect, I don't even want respect. I HOPE you hate me. It is satisfaction enough to know that you HATE me, but respect my MajorMUD.

I'll just step in and say this.



I found MudRevolution about a month and a half ago.



In the past I've played on a lot of big name BBS's and was even a metro forumop/beta tester for awhile. I had quit mud for about a year when a few friends from the dialup days started working with me and we decided to find a realm we could play at while working. We found a few different BBS's from here (Ethereal Plains, Arcanum). But they all either got extremely gay, or they shut down. I happened on the ad for MudRev, and checked out the web page.



I was instantly drawn to the 'Arborean' class, and set the character up.



When I got into the realm, saw I had sys goto's, I ported to halls of the dead, where Gabriel, the #1 player in the realm happened to be at keys. He started me out with 2000 runic and showed me where all the shops were. I scripted myself to level 16, and then was taken on a boss run by White / Ghetto. 2 dragons later I was level 49. Totally re-equipped myself and followed the advice that bosses were the place to be. So I spent the next week or 2 killing bosses, learning the realm's layout, havin' a blast pvping in the portals. Some of the veteren players helped me with learning the new areas so I could put together my own boss runs and gain some levels fast. By the time the BBS went down for reset, I had myself a level 80 character, decked with limiteds, who could tear up some ass hardcore.



I didn't think I would ever have fun with MajorMUD again. I had done it all, and the stuff that Metro has been putting into this game is 1/100th of what Miles has done with MudRevolution. Since it's been offline I've tried to go to legit boards, but it's just not the same. His edits are as balanced as they are plentiful, and there are so many new areas that, fuck the stick, you can't even shake a tree at. MudRevolution gave me something to do when I sit down besides train and check the convo logs.



So just wanted to drop that, let Miles know that he's got faithful users waiting in the wings for the re-opening of a kickass system. I'll be quitting 3 characters and 2 BBS's when MudRev re-opens. Seriously.

wow, just saw this thread.. way to be a hypocrit, Miles.. "I'm not here to bash....." hrm, coulda fooled me.. You continuously refer to Boink in your post, whether it be by the "lame no-swearing rule" or by name, or by calling Raiden out personally, or "I could re-do Boink".. IMO, that's NO way to advertise, and I would've respected you more had you left that petty shit out of your grand post about your revolutionary board. Of course you can do what you like, but I doubt I'm the only one that sees your double talk in this situation. Run your board, make it great, but why be a prick and log into other's boards just to bash and advertise? I played MR when it opened, and I wasn't really that impressed - granted it probably has changed, as it's been quite a while since I visited. Don't get ME wrong on this, I'm not bashing your board, I'm actually interested to see what new flavor you can bring.. But I've lost alot of respect for you as a SysOp and a "person" (online anyhow) just by reading what you've posted about fellow op's endeavors. I only wish I had the time you seem to have to go as in depth into the game that's held my interest for 14 years now. Best of luck, I'll most likely see you on your board. And seriously, why bother insulting others if you feel yours is the best?

well buddy boy, i must say.... that mudrev will never be as great as sinister, morbid, or lunar dynamics for that matter.... true i only play on lunar, but the fact of the matter is, that you repeatedly thrash other boards with your useless bullshit.... i admit that i dont like legit, i dont play on them less i see an old time friend that plays there.... but i dont disrespect other boards like you have, and ive seen this alot on lunar....

I completely agree. Though I am relatively new to the forums here, I have been floating around for quite awhile... I've played on morbid, lunar, sinister urge, illuz... quite a few of the bbs in good standing. I just recently started playing on raidens board and I don't believe I have ever run into a sysop who cares more about his users... it's true his edits may be a bit behind, but he works a lot... and as most of us know, its hard to try and balance a job and a board at the same time. But the good thing is he has put forth an effort to have a cosysop and mudops who will supervise the realm when he is gone... and as for his rules... deal with them. I am normally one to cuss people out... but it is NOT hard to withold yourself from doing it.



All I have seen is someone who is childishly poking fun at an up and coming board. do you feel somewhat threatened?



I'm excited to see where your board is going to do, because i've heard alot about your editing. But as far as ops go... raiden has my vote. He's a great guy, and really cares about his players (as long as they don't make jackasses out of themselves like some have)

Just giving my honest Opinion. The fact that I'm an op of my own system seems to make it worse. It's fine though.. You can call my opinion Useless, but maybe you should take it as constructive criticism (Kind of like I did..) So when everyone tried to tell me how crap my BBS was, I just used that as motivation to make it better. BUT, You can just take my opinions and throw them out the window.. Because afterall, What the fu


Ps. Lunar is a great System, Never said it wasn't.. (I did get mad though a whlie back, but thats in the past.)

i'm not one to get involved in any kinda bashing, and i refuse to even more in this case. but i do just want to say that if you choose not to play on mudrev because of miles, you're missing out on a lot of great stuff. suspend your preconceptions and come check it out, we've changed an unbelievable amount and actually put in a plot to go with it, which is something i've never seen anywhere else. i'm also biased i suppose, but it'll be worth your while to check things out, of that i'm certain.
