I've been told nightmare only works for hexing mod8. If this is true, can you upgrade to mod9 afterwards? Or how can you have a hexed mod 9 realm if not? Thanks in advance.

Nightmare can still edit the races, classes, and shops (even tho shops are a pain casue it cant load the item names, therefore you must click through many errors for each shop you edit). I'm not sure about editing mod8 and upgrading to mod9, i've never tried it. As for how you can have a decent edited mod9 realm... real hex editing, not using an editor. Download hex workshop and find some hex maps of the files you want to edit. Takes a lot more time, but its a lot more fun.

If you plan on using nightmare to do any hexing theres a few thingsd to take into consideration.
1: Its full capabilities can only be used on 1.11g and below, the new MOD packages use a new kind of compression which negates all but the item and monster editing options (which are twitchy at best).
2: As stated above, it works part and parcel with the items and monsters, problem is this: if you install MOD9 over an exsisting edited mud and your Item/Monster Dbase numbers conflict with MOD9's, MOD9 will take over and your edits will be lost.
Yell at me on AIM with questions.
