well this is my first attempt at setting up a bbs so i'm not quite sure whats happening... i've installed WG3.20 and now i'm trying to install mud i've tried installing 1.11g and mudnt and for some odd reason when the install is close to finishing i keep getting this error message

Insfin: Use DLL error on WGSIULT.DLL (error -1)

does anybody have any friggen clue what i'm doing wrong?

ok now when i load up worldgroup i get the following error messages

c:\wgserv\wccmmult.exe - BTRIEVE UPDATE ERROR 22 ON FILE ".\WCCKNMS2.DAT"

and

C:\WGSERV\wgserv.exe - BTRIEVE INSERT ERROR 5 ON FILE ".WCCTEXT2.DAT"



anybody got a clue on what these are?

Status 22 - Data Buffer Length ...

what version of mud are you running? what was your install process? you would only get this error when database file haven't or have been converted from another mud version.

Status 5 - Duplicate Key Value ...

i have never seen anyone get this error, wtf are you doing?





... lemme guess, you installed mud and WG and never tested it or let the update file complete and just started editing away.

I figured this was where it was heading, thats why i didnt reply to the second one. I corrupted and hammered my mud about 8 times in the early days, i did it knowing the best way was to search here (HINT FORSAKEN, TAKE THE HINT ack!) and by just shrugging, re-installing and putting it down as a lesson for future!

now all is coming along uber-well and nothing except a power failure during an update-file could screw it all (again : P)

First, search the forums for your error message.



Second, make a thread with a title relating to your problem.



Third, give ALL the information you have. WG version. Mud version. Windows version. Are you doing this install yourself, or with a WG and Mud install guide. What events lead up to the crash. What is displayed on the server window when it crashes. Have you attempted to edit anything yet. Every single piece of information that you can provide will help the other members provide you with answers.
