i was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.. i use to run a wg 2.00 dos bbs and when i tried installing i think wg 3.12-windows on top of it, it would keep crashing at boot up. so i wanted to know if its even possible as far as anyone knows. soon i may be faced with the challenge of making a wg dos bbs telnetable. i'd like to upgrade to the WINDOWS version but won't even bother if no one has had any luck.

i do have major tcp/ip software which i may be able to install but have no experience in doing so, and dont know how complex it is

any help is appreciated

You need the upgrade package for WG (although I think you have MBBS and WG, since I don't believe WG came out for dos-only, but I may be wrong). If you have Mud, too, you also need the upgrade package for that. Otherwise, you're SOL.

*nudge, nudge*

What about the WG DOS version?

:yeah:

Though to the best of my knowledge, "upgrading" from DOS to NT has always been a major pain in the ass, and close to a waste of time, since you lose a lot of modules that are incompatable with the NT version of WG.

yes wg definatly had dos based packages.

what is an upgrade package? is it just a different version like "windows xp upgrade" and "windows xp full install" ? or is it something seperate i need to find?

i may just try to get the dos tcp/ip package to work. anyone have pointers on that? it might be a breeze to set up but i havent checked it out quite yet. i have MajorTCP IP & DMA Server V2.22-0 and also MajorTCP IP & DMA Server V2.10-E. (2.10-14)

very good point about the modules. i better keep it in dos.

vircom no longer sells or even supports their major tcp/ip software. therefore is it against rules to talk about it a non-traditional method of registration light?
