I can't seem to get nightmare to run. I installed it and copied the 1.11g vir and dat files to where i isntalled it to, but I keep getting this when i run nightmare:

I though I read somewhere to get VBRUN300.DLL to fix these types of errors. I got that and put it in c:\winnt\system32, in c:\winnt\system, in c:\winnt, and in the nightmare install directory and still no luck.

when i install nightmare i got lot of messages that the files on my computer are _NEWER_ than the ones it's trying to copy over, so of course I tell it not to overwrite them since mine are newer and it will probably break other stuff.

any help would be greatly appreciated. let me know if you need any more information.

Did it come as an "Installer" based setup? Or as a zip file with a bunch of files? The original Nightmare came with an installer.

Yell at me on AIM if you still have problems.

don't copy .vir files and whatnot into the nightmare folder, put them in they're OWN folder and put nightmare into the WG folder.

nightmare ONLY runs in the WG directory... and it will ONLY runs if majormud is installed there as well...

i have a problem with this whole msg. 11g is old... so what if mod9 sux a donky dick, sooooooon mud's going to put out an update that 1, fixes exp cap (prolly in their databases not the code) and 2, their fixing all the code, my guess is more like a d&d ripoff... so don't even bother w/ the old school 11g..

whats this junk about LJN - i had a hard time fucking with some of the mod9 databases in it - and don't get me wrong, but a dossy app, PLEASE SPARE ME... now some people say its great for textblocks, but i personly didn't give it a 2nd run... then again, morbid bbs only edits 3 dat files and we call it a realm, and all 3 are a sinch by hand...

I have this error all the time. It's no big deal. Make sure ALL of your WG files are closed. Even after closing down the server, I always have some WG files open that I have to shut down with task manager. it's a WG*.* file... dont remember the exact name of it, not on my server's puter right now... but that might be all you have to do. It's annoying when you're in a hurry but sometimes thats what you gotta do.
