Ok I am glad to inform everyone I have had so many problems I kinda know what I am doing.



...The problem is and Access Violation, with some numbers and letter, which I assume will be no help to yall for my info. But it always has the same set of numbers and letters which leads me to believe that it is the same problem and only one problem.



The question: Is there a way to, besides turning all the systems to Audit, find out what actually caused the error ? I am not aware of anything besides checking the audit trail. And to check the audit I would need to set everything up to audit, unless I am mistaken.



The board is only used for Mud at the moment, although there is forums, telecon, etc..., which no one really uses.



Please reply with any additional info. that I left out unknowingly.(sp?)

when does it crash? randomly? the other thing to check is the "WGSOUT" file. I forget what the extension is. Usually it isn't helpful, but it is about the only other thing to check. It should list the last command typed, but that doesn't necessary mean that caused the crash. Does it only crash when you have users in the game? Most random crashes are caused either by a message with an incorrect/missing %s or %d somewhere, or a corrupt user. The board wouldn't crash until that corrupt user entered the game or gained some exp.

I dont think it is a defunct user, since it doesnt happen when someone enters, i have that on audit so i could tell.

thanks for the info





a defunct user entering the game doesn't always crash it. when they gain exp is usually when it happens. as for the messages, have you added/edited any messages recently? those would be the ones to check.
