what do I need to do for my regular mud users to have sys goto? I can only figure out how to allow full mudop, not just limit it to goto..

This is addressed in the documentation that is distributed with mmud, but to recap:

In teh wccmmud.ini enter the name of the key you want, and then make it equal to a a key you have given or will give to the user class. You will then give the user that key as well as the key you would normally give them to give full op's (wccgameop).

So, to sum it up, in the ini file, type SYS_GOTO=[keyname], and give your users the [keyname] and wccgameop keys.

sorry MrBlack, but you are wrong on this one

The syskeys listed in the wccmmud.ini are keys needed INADDITION to the wccgameop key. if a syskey entry is left out, any user with the wccgameop key can perform the syskey operation. You have to give users the wccgameop key, correct. BUT you have to edit each of the keys to be able to restrict the other syskey usages.

Here is an example from a board I set up:

File: wccmmud.ini

SYS_LIGHTNING_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_STATUS_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_ADDLIFE_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_RETRAIN_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_ALIGNMENT_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_EDITEVIL_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_SPEAK_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_LISTUSER_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_LISTLIMIT_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_USERINFO_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_JAIL_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_CHANGE_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_BUFFERS_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_CLEARSUICIDE_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_REPORT_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_TOPTEN_KEY=AragonKey

SYS_DISBAND_KEY=AragonKey

Simply copy and paste the above (you're welcome) into your wccmmud.ini and give users the wccgameop key and give gameops (mudops) the additional AragonKey.

I have tried a million different things to get sys goto's for my users and nothing is working. I cut and paste the example, and that didn't work either. The only thing that worked was giving them the master key, but I dont want them to have access to all the sys commands. Is there any way someone can get ahold of me and log onto my bbs and help me out with this?

Ok, so you created the keys in the wccmmud.ini, and then gave those individual keys to each user, right?

If that don't work, I think they're supposed to get the wccgameop key as well. Having that in combination with the keys limits them to the keys, having just that gives them all the keys. If I remember right (been over a year since I actively used my own BBS now....)

Stones of teleportation I say. Do away with the whole problem of granting and denying keys.

Can even level restrict them for proper levels.

Sold for free in a shop. No weight. Only downfall is slots in your inventory. Think up some cool description and it's all good.

Even more fun (and highly abusive): Make the spell Self *and* Single. ;)

Even better idea. IMO. Make it a side quest for the harder places such as lost city and arlysia. Ask NPC stones. NPC sends you off to LC or Arly. Talk to another NPC for fun and return to get your tele stone? Too cheesy?

I've actually been thinking about something like this. The problem with this is that since this teleportation stuff casts as a spell, it'd be a "get outta jail free" card in terms of hightailing it in pvp. While the idea in its core is good, implementation would need work.

One solution is making the quest hard, and/or maybe making the items limited to like 5 with 1-3 uses of teleportation each. That way, there's not too many floating around for abuse, and they're not so easy to get that someone would hold all 5.

Another idea would be to sell "scrolls of teleportation" in a store or something of that sort. The requirements for this are that it would need to be expensive, uncommon and the economy in the game would need to be balanced so people wouldn't haul out hundreds of runics after a few days of exp in high level areas. But that's another topic for another day....
