home network trouble

ok i just upgraded the bbs to a new machine was on an old pent 2 333. and i ran the twgs on the 2nd pc amd 2000 both networked off of cable modem thru a linksys 4 port router. both systems were running win98se. now the wgserver machine is running winxp home. and the twgs machine is still running win98se. Now that the worldgroup server has been switched to the new machine it won't let anyone in the bbs. i can log on on the home net work if i telnet into the addy just fine, but when i try to use the no-ip sytes.net name it will not let me in. had an outside person try to telnet directly to the machine with the ip addy and no-go either. The bbs boots up fine and runs great just won't let folks in. This is my 1st time with xp, what do I need to do to let others in? I did happen across the built in firewall and cut it off for that connection in winXP but still nothing. I am damn near at a loss here, any suggestions on how to fix this?
