so far i've done ok on a trial and error basis with creating monsters, but i don't have all the time in the world to keep changing my monsters to make them just right. so what are MinH/Cast%, MaxH/CastLvl, Attack%, and Energy for in the monster editor? And is there any particular reason why a monster would crash my bbs? As soon as I put this new one in my board started crashing every 10 minutes. When I took him out it ran fine.

Theirs a few good things to note on the 'GENERAL' tab...

Group (ya gotta group ur shit, just pick one that matches the best with the area you are putting the monster in)

Index (ya gotta index ur shit - if ur adding new monsters to new areas you built, pick an index that is not used)

Energy - most monsters are set to 1000 - add this value to the energy EVERY round - more on this in a sec...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

When adding new monsters to rooms, put you indexs in the min/max slot, and make sure you put the right 'group' in the monsterType slot.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Spells and Attacks

+note+ Monsters ONLY attack with spells (ie When the Orc Captain swings with his black scimitar, he's really doing the spell holy force)

Create Spell - A spell that is casted apon the monster regening (sometimes this slot is set to cast spells that respawn more monsters)

Death Spell - A spell that is casted when monster dies

The next block of spells is mostly used for 'bless' style spells (ie speed, smite, magic armour) that the monster casts on itself

Weapon - Now, we know weapons don't mean shit, but its nice to see msg's like 'dork swings and misses you with his shortsword'

*Alright - The next 5 tabs are the real monster attacks

Type - When you wanna make a monster 'byte' or use a weapon, use NORMAL here, if you wanna have a monster cast a spell, well, use SPELL

Accu/Spell - the spell we are using to attack with

MinH/cast% MaxH/castLvL - When using NORMAL, this is the Min/Max damage delt, when using SPELL, this is cast% and CastLevel

Attack% - The monster is going to do this attack 90% (or whatever) of the time, if he don't attack, it moves to the next TAB - so on and so forth

Energy - this is the ammount of energy the attacks take up, (with 1000 set on the general tab) if you make it 500, the monster will attack twice each round.

HitMsg

MissMsg

DodgeMsg - Your monster might be doing VineStrike, but you can set these messages to look like a byte, or swinging a weapon..

Monster : Kobald Theif

Round #1

Energy = 1000

Attack takes 666 energy (334 left)

Round #2

Energy = 1334

Attack takes 666 energy (668 left)

Attack takes 666 energy (2 left)

Round #3

Energy = 1002

(repeats)

--ya see whats going on? - Every attack takes 666 energy, ever new round adds 1000 - as long as he has enough energy, he'll keep attacking till he runs out that round....

-=-=-=- Live -=-=-=-

Monster : unholy idol

His first attack% is 25, if he lands it - it will suck 500 of his energy away

else

2nd attack% is 50 - this also sucks 500 energy away

else

3rd attack% is 75 - only takes away 250 energy

else

4th attack% is 100 - all elses fail, he's hitting you with this attack. its a spell, so he's gonna land it 100% of the time, casting it as a level 28 might... it sux down all his energy (1000) so ya won't get slaughtered
