Ancient Sand Dragon -- Taking Off?

Well, we found this pretty damn funny at the moment... In my 9 years of mudding I have never seen this happen.
I have a level 85 Witchunter on Illuz.
Took my character up to ancient sand dragon, climbed wall to bring him down... when I attacked the dragon it upped and flew away, and none of us can find him currently.
If you have any idea where our dragon could have gone, please, please let us know... We would really like to bring him back home!

P.S. Has anyone EVER seen the dragon fly away and disappear?!

looking at the monsters death messages i see ... "The ancient sand dragon shrieks, defeated, and flies off over the desert!" ... for one of the "ancient sand dragons" in the dats and ... "You hear an evil cackle, and the illusion vanishes!" ... for another (there are 3 total). is that what you saw to make you think it flew away? if so, i think someone just killed it and you caught the tail end, or something of that nature.

My witchunter was the only one that was at the dragon. Oddly enough when I attacked him, he disappeared... Game dats said he was somewhere in the sandstones and we could not find him, 5 minutes later I believe it said he was dead...
So... The dragon decided to leave us... No one in the game killed it, so I am wondering if it bugged out or some such.

Actually I had the exact same thing happen to me. He doesnt rgen properly sometimes apparently. I was playing a level god probably 170 spell caster on mudrev when he did it to me. You hear an evil cackle, and the illusion vanishes!" that text is not from the asd that rgens near khaz. That asd is in the pit in the ancient jail for the level 65+ trainer. Ya know the one where the Angelic Hunter ambushes you right after the battle. All the illusion monsters give that text. I suppose the evil cackle is that freaky ass nahr hoebag. who btw really is a hoebag on a regular mud.

The person in the room highest on the node list for your board was 10-spelled. Next time, go in 9-spelled and cast a party spell as soon as you join up.
