My blinkers don't work. Fuses are fine. Hazards work. I'm guessing its the blinker switch thingie. 97 S-10... how hard would it be to replace it myself? I'd assume it's a pain in the ass because of the air bag, and the part itself is anywhere from $140-160 from what I've seen. I don't know jack about cars... help me. :wstupid:

hmm. I've never messed with that, but check out either Helms or Haynes manual on that. Just go to Autozone or something or maybe public library has a copy. ALso, you should be able to find parts in a junk yard. S-10 is a pretty common truck

I was screwin around last night, and noticed that if i hit the lever with my brakes on, a brake light goes out. So I've been using that as a temporary turn signal, although I have nothing to signal with in front.

Before you replace that, check to see if the blinker has two elements. I dont ever recall a blinker having two elements, but if thats the case, just replace the bulbs.

Well I still don't have the problem fixed, but I bought the part I needed... it cost $2.50... for a flasher, I just don't know where the hell it goes. heh.

Look in the manual. It more then likely in a black box under the hood with other relays/fuses, or near/with the fuses under your dash.

its not in the manual, and its not near the other fuses, and i've looked under the dash, but not extensively cuz i was kinda high and didn't know what i could take off and what i couldn't, cuz i don't know anything about cars. i should just call the dealership and ask em... i'd rather fix it myself than pay someone 100 bucks an hour to fix a 2 dollar part

Just buy a chitlins manual for 97 s-10, it has everything you will ever need to know about working on your truck.
