i want to use my 56K VOICE MODEM to make calls over my computer, and use my microphone to speak. how?

As long as the mic plugs into the modem. I haven't looked at a modem in years and don't have one here. If the mic doesn't plug into the modem, how would you route your voice to the modem?

This is true, we know you are asshole....but we are trying to get new users and dont need you running them off with asshole remarks. Now I could understand being a asshole it was a id10t question, but this guy had a good question. There was no reason to be a dick about it!



Back in the day of using modems, I know I had a soft phone for my pc that did what you are looking for. I will try to dig up the software and let ya know.

and it will just dial the #. I am not sure..its been sooo long hehe

Now when I did it, I had software made for this..It even had a digital answering machine...and fax ;)



I am sure you can find newer and better software to take advantage of this.



BTW the software I used...you could change your voice and it was fun messing with people :)

Anyone know if there is a way to make phone calls through your cable/dsl connection>? Never really thought about it or even wanted to try it, but it just pop'd into my head...
