I know virtual memory uses your hard drive space as memory or whatever. I have 1 gig of ram. What should I have the virtual set at for best performance? THanks

Virtual memory should be 1.2x ammount of physical memory.

it'll vary depending on how much it needs... if you have 1 gig of ram you don't fn need any, heh, but my laptop has 1 gig of memory and windows sets it to about 2.4 gigs total, so i guess invisiDOG was right. but i'd just let windows handle it

a quick note here to improve cpu performance...

set your virtual mem to have the same min and max size settings.. this will prevent fragmentation.. you might want to consider defragmenting your swapfile before you set this. to do t his turn virtual mem off completely and reboot. defrag your HD. set virtual mem back up with min/max the same & reboot...
