Swimming Race?

I'm trying to make an underwater type race. Is there anyway to make them immune to the "smashing against the rocks" effect while on the river?or maybe with a piece of armor? Also I want to give them the same effect you get from wearing the gnome fish-helm (I know on the item editor it shows all the spells it negates, so I would assume just put the same thing with the race, and/or new piece of armor?) any help is much appreciated, thanks

take a look at the skiffs and see what spells it negates.. you're sure to find the river one on it..

Oh by the way, you then put that spell as being negated by whichever item you want them to wear for this swimming race..

But thats just the thing I'm confused about, none of the boats (skiff, log, canoe) negate anything, the only thing I see is that they are marked as special.

ok nevermind, try making something that resists spell number 753, that should take care of it anyway, dunno about those boats

=============

Errrr... Race... Ok... Not like race with a prize for the winner. Yeah. Only thing I could think would be to make a race-only item that can be bought freely and not stealable or anything like that, like an emblem for race pride, but i don't know of any ways that you can make races immune to any sort of room spell like that..

Please, someone correct me.. would be good info to have =)

I tried this recently and found that it wasn't possible to do since the spell immunity in the character fields is used for level only. Look at the gnomish fish-helm, but unless the dll has been fixed or there is a way to add a new ability for specific spell immunity you won't be able to do this.

the wooden skiff works the way it does because of how the silver river spell works.

silver river spell (753):

executes textblock 2750

textblock 2750:

failitem 690:failitem 691:failitem 1181:message 2096:cast 754

items 690, 691, and 1181 being the raft, skiff, and canoe. spell 754 being the spell that hurts you.

i'm unfamilliar with what the gnomish fish-helm does besides negating spells. anyone care to endulge?

That's all it does. It negates the drowning from those spells.

It negates drowning in the frozen lake under the frozen caverns, and *maybe* the little well by rakshasha's.
