connection recomendations

Im trying to get some ideas on how much upload i should look for to run a board of say 30 users fairly lag free.

512k upload would run it nice

512kbits (64 kBytes) would definately be optimal but you could get away nicely at 256kbits (32kBytes) with 30 users. About 35+ users is where a 32kB upload starts getting laggy. You generally want to have 1 kiloByte dedicated per user for optimal performance (so 32kB upload should get you 32 users no problem).
