I could never get poetry. People just write things that don't rhyme, put a few words per line so it doesn't look like plain text, and call it poetry.

I wish you could see that you're beautiful, and what I see when I look into your eyes. I see a place I could get lost forever, with purple mountains, and pink skies. I want to show you that I'm here for you, through thick and thin, you know the drill. I want to hold you in my arms forever, I can't disguise the way I feel. I wish you could see the way your face lights up a room, when you let those pearly whites gleam. And the way all eyes follow you as you leave, especially when you wear those tight jeans. I'd tell you more of what's on my mind, but I've got to hold some back. But I can tell you that you make my life seem complete, you make up for what I lack.

See, this is more my speed, I've got poetry for days... this is just one that I dug out of my dusty memory banks, I've got better stashed away somewhere.. Poetry isn't just a jumble of words, and it can rhyme, there are different kinds of poetry, as there is rap and song lyrics.

That wasn't poetry.

That was a paragraph of thoughts.

That was beautiful and sweet.

And I can tell you love the girl.

But besides that, it's nothing special.

You can't just write a paragraph

And tell me it's something different

Like an art-form of sorts.

Poetry needs to have a rhythm.

Kind of like freestyle or rap.

What you wrote above

Is nothing more but a paragraph

A paragraph of thoughts and feelings

It's exactly a jumble of words

Sweet words, but words,

And thus it's not poetry.

That was poetry by the way. Why? I don't know.. because I said so, I guess.



Most poets rhyme every 2nd or 3rd line and after a while, you fall into a nice rhythm reading the poem. Anything anyone says could be said to be a poem, when in reality, its far from it. This amateur hack is just a talentless attempt at an art-form.

rofl... yeah, say that to the great poets in history. Your shit above wasn't close to poetry homie. it had no meaning, it was broken up, not smooth when read, it was rap without a rhyme. Do you see us baggin on your c-rap? No? Then lay off f00, cuz you don't know jack. I never claimed I could rap, but I've won prizes and had my shit published, how bout you?

besides, what is rap? simply a bunch of slang words put together that rhyme, and alot of folks use the same words over and over again anyhow, so how is that artful or poetic? there are some raps that sound good, the lyrics are tight, but there's alot of it that's just a bunch of words put together that really have no meaning besides their rhyming value.
