is this during the install of mud or worldgroup? mud gets installed to the same directory as worldgroup. note, worldgroup's default installation directory is

"c:\program files\galacticomm\worldgroup server" and mud's default directory is "c:\wgserv". the error means nothing to me other than it's having trouble with that dll. whether it be corrupted, missing, who knows.

this is for installing MUD, I noticed that on the install of MUD so I was putting it in c:\program files\galacticomm\worldgroup server\wgserv

Should I put Mud into there or shour it just go into........

c:\program files\galacticomm\worldgroup server

I haven't run a BBS in almost 15 years I really dont have much of a clue as to what I am doing :(

you should put it in C:\program files\galacticomm\worldgroup server

That is the default pathway that WG sets up, as well as where all mud information should be stored. You should also check out the instillation forum setup for this information which is:

i have had this problem before ... and its because your mud install is pointing to the wrong directory. i would personally uninstall wg, and reinstall it to c:\wgserv. then just run the mud install. this will help with further updates, and other games that are already pointing there by default.

why uninstall WG when it's just as easy to install mud to the WG directory? Instead of uninstalling WG, just hit the browse button on the mud install and change the path to

C:\program files\galacticomm\worldgroup server

Deleting mud takes all of 10 seconds from dos...

C:\program files\galacticomm\worldgroup server> del wcc*.*

just a thought tho...just a thought...

as i already stated...ease for later applications. just about everything that you will come accross will point to c:\wgserv. ease my friend. you can just click next. rather than browse and go thru all that everytime you install something. youre right tho, you can do it that way. just easier the other way. suit yourself. i dont really give a fuck

np. i was just referring to the mud. didn't see you made reference to other programs. with regards to that, you're correct.

Ok so I removed everything (twice) first time, I made a directory c:\wgserv and installed everything into it, BUT HEY a new problem, Nightmare doesn't see anything but

C:\Program Files\Galacticomm\Worldgroup Server

So I uninstalled everything, rebooted and reinstalled everything.

But when WG initializes, it tell me that MMUD is still demo? How do I change this? as I have a reg#? Also states Majormud - Corruption Please Wait - Corrupt Database detected. Majormud Notice Automatic Database Update Complete. Then goes into WL:TCP/IP LAYER - Located Calacticomm ICO. WTF does all that mean? And while it's doing that it's take for ever for WGserver just to come online.

when I have WG up and running, and go into mmud, I get this error message.........

this is from a cap

[X] . Exit Game

[SYSOP] . For Sysop Menu

[MAJORMUD]: e

There is a severe problem with the databases on this system.

It is not automatically resolvable.

Please ask your sysop to re-apply the latest database update.

What did I screwup now?

Uninstall everything. Erase everything. Remove all directories after uninstalling. Clean it all up.
