Hey yall, I have an opprotunity to get into the navy, I mean leave right now if I wanted to, should I do it? What do you guys think?

i think that is a decisision you should make entirely on your own.

You've given very little info to help us help you. What would you be doing? The benefits for working with the armed forces are immense, free travel (it's not first class though), 30 days holiday a year, a decent pay rate, plus the growth you do as a person. You could get sent to a war zone, you'd have to learn the term, "Yes sir!" and "Yes ma'am!". You don't always know what's going on with you, that's another downfall. (in regards to being shipped off to war, but they do give you a couple weeks notice in worst case scenarios).

All my friends in the military don't like it.

They train you as a killing machine. You get out, all you know is killing, and you get in trouble and goto jail.

I was in the military, I loved the job, I hated every other part of it (I was a heavy equipment operator..dozers, graders and such..fun as hell to tear shit up with those things ;))

he said navy not army or marines.. dude you will be stuck on a boat for 3-6 months at a time just about everytime you go out. You'll learn fast how to sleep at every moment you have to yourself because you wont get much any other way. You will be considered property of the US government. You will get screwed over on your paychecks constantly. You will be treated like a piece of shit most of the time, but hey. Free travel. You may get to visit a new country for like a day here and there.
