This is really an eye opener.... Water or Coke?

We all know that water is important but I've never seen it written Down like this before.

WATER

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day

could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, & difficulty focusing on the computer screen or a printed page.

8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

And now for the properties of COKE

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can

of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola

to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

For Your Info:

1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH

is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid

also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the

rising increase in osteoporosis.

2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial

truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for

Highly corrosive materials.

3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a coke or a glass of water?

I drank so much coke growing up, my adopted parent who was a nurse kept telling me about how bad it was for you. I didn't believe her until we put a piece of lunch meat in a large glass of Coke and waited. It was gone within 2 days. It's scary to think that you're putting something so acidic into your body..

It pisses me off when candy-ass liberals tell me that smoking is bad for me. Then they turn around and suck down a six pack of cola. Screw those butterdicks. I hope the acid in cola eats away their stomach lining and their small intestines fall out. Then i'll be sure to put my cigarette out on their dehydrated carcasses.

Xetox, thanks for posting this (even though I've seen it once a month for the past year). It's amazing what advertisement "teaches" us. I always thought I wasn't susceptible to the drivel that commercials pour on us, but when I actually stopped and realized that I can name four different major soda manufacturers and countless shoe designers without remembering what my friends drink and wear, I started getting upset about it all.

It is *amazing* how often we're advertised too. Today, tomorrow, sometime soon -- for a full day count how many times you are being sold to. Sides of trucks, buses, and some cars... Buildings... Newspapers... Clothing... Television... Radio... even movies now (and not just for "Upcoming Releases", anymore...)

Other things of note: Did you know that milk (except for skim milk) actually helps _cause_ osteoporosis because of its high content of milk fat and dairy protein? Did you know that drinking milk, regardless of it being skim or not, doesn't actually prove to be healthy? Got Milk? Got heart disease? Got kidney stones?

(and don't even let me start with the whole improper grammar being taught by advertising: "You've got mail" and "Got milk?".... You have got mail? WTF is that? It should be "You have mail" and "Have milk?", if not "Do you have milk?" Just because you're trying to sell a product doesn't mean you should let kids think what you say is correct.)

If you want some info to read, check out www.adbusters.org www.milksucks.com and www.peta.org

I know a lot of you aren't going to enjoy the content they have, but try to read past all the preachiness (which is even way too much for me -- a vegan). Facts are facts, no matter who is telling you about them. And when facts are backed by the FDA and journals of medicine....

I don't know. I figure I'll get flamed for even suggesting someone should read PETA, but give it a shot. You can't argue one side without properly knowing the other...

Shrug.

I agree with you there apathy. Consumerism has gone too far, IMO. When you goto see a movie, and have to sit through television commercials first. Even cable tv (which used to be commercial free) blares all kinds of advertising at you.

As for milk..did you know that most humans are actually lactose intolerant. The only reason that most of the alpha countries (those being America and most of Europe, etc) are not, is because we are raised on it. Milk is a liquid produced by a mother to feed her infant until it is old enough to digest and consume solid foods. Milk, from any animal, was not intended for consumation past 2 yrs of age (in humans anyway). Yes, its a great source of calcium..hence small children drink it to grow their teeth and strengthen their bones, but once you get a certain age, that extra calcium doesn't really go anywhere. In some people it even builds up and you end up with calcium deposits or bone problems which usually require surgery.

It still pisses me off when some liberal faggot tells me to put out my cigarette, and then turns around and sucks down a bottle of cola. I'm like, "hey asshole, let that shit eat away your small instestines, but leave my smoking out of this."
