Agreed...Paying is so horrible; I bet the sysop didn't pay for worldgroup. Why should we have to pay to spend our time?

yah, who wouldnt agree that free is better, but not much is free in life, and I guess people have to pay for hardware, software, and connections.. I usually play on 1 pay bbs, where I know its not going down in a few weeks, and theres actually more of a challenge.

Legit BBS's, especially pay ones, go down QUICK..rather new ones do..only pay bbs's i know of still around are ones that ive gotten on for about 8 years +...and mudvillagebbs but that ones gone under i thinks..

Pay boards don't go down quick, they just fade out.

I've never had to pay Invisigod a dime and he's sys'ed on 2 boards. Never a problem with one of his boards.

A good BBS requires constant maintenance and an Operator who cares about the users he caters to. SO wether its paid or free it aint worth a damn without a good console operator!
