Someone hacked Jedi's sysop account and did the following

And there were a couple after that. I can't trace who did it to punish them, and I don't think any punishment would be severe enough anyway. So in response to this, I'm downing the board for good. It was fun while it lasted, but it just had too many problems....



I, for one, and glad that it's going down. Running a BBS places too many restrictions on me.

oh yeah, i know that sys god (user) reroll doesn't do anything, but the person logged on all of the accounts and rolled 'em afterwards...

don't you keep nightly backups?

i'd blame Jedi for using a password that could easily be hacked. (and of course the person who actually did it). btw, cant you get the IP of who it was from control ray?



BlackHaze: i do believe he is donig user backups but it's the concept of the matter. trying to provide someone with something fun and then being hacked be people. just irritating.

Yup.. i know how he feels.. I've been hacked a few times.

All of my eq buddies have tried and quit SB already.. Too boring apparently.

Ok here's a question.. Aside from password bashing, which Ray said did not occur. How does one "hack" a sysop password w/o it being told to them?

Looking up the sysops password on another board, web site, etc... since most dumbasses use the same password for everything.
