Finally got a DSL connection - no more 56k bullcrap.. ::cheer:: But now I'm worried about the constant flow of information through my system.. I know nothing about networking, firewalls included, so can anyone help me by giving their opinion on the best software?

I know a good program, it's been installed on me since birth. "Don't worry about it."
Seriously. You have nothing to worry about. Don't trouble yourself with stupid software for something like that.

If your paranoid about it go get a Linksys firewall/router.

I, along with millions of americans, have been on broadband for years, with nothing protecting my system. I've never had a problem. Just don't download kazaa and you'll be fine.
I have been using my router for a year or so now, but for the two years I had cable before that, nothing happened. The router doesn't help too much, anyhow. If someone is so hard up to hack into your computer, they are probably going to get there regardless of a firewall/router.
