Don't take the poll untill you are sure what you are after you have taken the quiz. This isn't about who you voted for(Hell, I voted for bush and I am not republican for sure). Its just where you are categorized by the quiz.

With all of the debating going on now, I thought it would be interesting to see where people stand within the political parties.
Some people may claim to be behind one political party and actually stand behind a different one when they examine their beliefs.

I am strong Libertarian with my answers on this quiz but I already knew that before the quiz.
I don't really understand why anyone would be anything different unless they like being told what to do by the government or forced to give money to the government to do what it likes with it.
But then of course that is why nobody can agree on politics because they can't understand any other option.

Centrist
Centrists favor selective government intervention and emphasize practical solutions to current problems. They tend to keep an open mind on new issues. Many centrists feel that government serves as a check on excessive liberty

I'm a centrist, somewhere between Liberal and Authoritarian. lol
I actually looked at the mission statement and philosophy for the Reform Party last night. I agree with a lot of the principles they were founded on.

I am a staunch right-wing conservative, and i'll tell you why.
Centrists and libertarians are nice, but many times they delve into issues that only effect them personally. Egotism is not an efficient way to run the government, especially when other people are involved.
Authoritarians are flawed because everyone is human, and humans are prone to make mistakes. So no matter what side of the political spectrum you fit in to, i'm sure we all realize that nobody is the sole AUTHORITY on running a government.
Liberals are probably the most driven of the bunch. But they tend to see issues in the world from a black & white perspective. Idealism is an admirable trait for any political conscious person to have, but it should never override reality.
Which takes me back to why i'm a conservative. Right-winged political advocates look at the problems we're facing in the world and deal with them realistically. We know the world is not black and white, and more complex than any others will admit. Though far from perfect, right-winged conservatism is the best political base we have in America, if not the world.
We believe in free trade with minimal tariffs.
We believe the death penalty deters crime when used effectively.
We believe immigration should be closely monitored to prevent outsiders from damaging the moral fiber of society.
We believe in military intervention after diplomacy fails.
We believe and encourage free enterprise.
We know capitalism works.
As a Republican, I say this to everyone:
Friends don't let friends vote Democrat. :)

Politics suck because I don't think I agree with a single thing you said VooDoo.
I wish I could understand why people have such strong believes in their politics, everyone just has a definate opinion that they think is the only right answer I guess.
The whole black and white thing, I see conservatives making everything black and white. Your either wrong or right with a conservative. There is either the right or wrong thing to do with them with no other options. Who makes something right or wrong, who gives any human the right to say what is right or wrong? Liberals think everyone should be left alone in what they believe in and should be able to do what they want with themselves. Nothing black and white about that.
What gives conservatives the right to police the world?
I guess it must be the God given right in some of their eyes since they think they are followers of God.
If half the people in this country that claim to be christian auctually followed what was suposedly taught by Jesus then there would be nowhere near as much violence in this world.
I am not a christian but I still don't believe that violence is the answer for anything.
Violence only creates more violence.
I don't know, I am starting to think that people pick the type of government that defines their personality which makes sense.
If they just sat back and looked at the consequences of inflicting their personality on themselves without their own control.
Conservatives want the government to controll all of their actions and their moral issues. They want to police the world and make sure that they are doing what is "right" because it is what they believe in. If they can't resolve the issue peacefully they will return to old testament belifs and use violence and the wrath of God.
Liberals want the government to controll all their financial responsibility and want to be able to do whatever they want with themselves while they get money from the people that want to work and make something of themselves through taxes going to welfare and unemployment. Some of them are also caring and want to make sure everyone is taken care of but that is NOT the goverment responsibility. Do it yourself if your concerned.
Centrist can't make up their mind either way. They want protection but they also don't want to be controlled which makes more sense than either conservative or liberals but it is only going to lead to one or the other.
Authoritarian's I don't understand at all. Why would you want to be that controlled? They just want to do what makes the country stronger and more powerful. They want to take over world I guess using the country as their vessle.
I hate to sprout so much critisism towards everything but like everyone I can't understand the other ideas of politics. Oh well nothing can be done about that.
Oh, I don't see how centrist and libertarians are egotistical. Libertarians want what is best for everyone except for the government. They don't want any control by the government. Why should people not be able to have their own opinions and own beliefs as long as it doesn't harm anyone else? That is all a libertarian wants.
Well Cheers, Good Luck to this country and world, its in our hands.
