Ok well.....

Xbox + 2 games + 1 controller = $299

DVD playback kit = $30

X2 Pro mod chip = $65

Tools = $45

10 rental game fees = $40

-----------------------------

$479

$480...thats a lot of $$$ you tell me...well I know LOL

but!

10*$50=$500

1 xbox game is about $50...so after 10 games it even pays for the rental fees, and the dvd kit that I dont need anymore!!!

Then everything after 10 games...muahahaha

Now that I have the tools..I can do as many as I want...anyone need one done? I live in WA let me know!!

It took me 2 nights to go from NO CLUE to

install chip, flash chip, install dashboard(with edits for network), install hdd -- Ready for games!!

I have also already made 2 CD-RW disks Xbox can read. 1 for booting from Evox(dont need anymore, Evox is on the hdd), and 1 for simple hdd swap.

install new hdd, boot from cd..cd does everything, take out cd, reboot. Your set!

Both disks are in ISO form... :)

___

Got XboxCopy installed, it allows you to take games you own, put them into the xbox, and rip right from the disk in the xbox to the hdd. Pretty nice.

I need to go buy some more games :afire1:

Syntax is right...I bugged Syntax a lot..but most of the time..he just lead me to the tuts.

www.xbox-scene has everything!

Tools I bought.

$8 Soldering iron = 30 watt, kinda hot but still worked.(Needed)

$10 Soldering kit = soldering tools to help clean area and make sure ya dont hit any other metal traces ect.(Not needed, but helps)

x2 $2.50 LEAD-FREE very fine Rosin Core Solder = What ya melt to make it connect :)(Needed)

*flux = I didn't buy but helps with corrosion(not needed, but nice)

$10 Solder pump = If you have V1.0 which I have...to use the pin head adapter..you need to remove the solder in the holes..if you are using the wire adapter then you dont need the pump. I bought the pump, tried the pin adapter, and removed it, filled the holes back in, and then used the wire adapter.

$10 Torxs #10 and #20 = 20 for xbox case, and 10 for everything else.

Good luck!

Another note....BIOS and Dashboard are TWO seperate things...took me a little while to figure this out LOL

BIOS = flash the mod chip Evox 2.5

Dashboard = files on the hd(menus and stuff..like the OS) Evox 1.8.3285

Let me know if ya need anything!!

Why didn't you just get the mod chip that does not require soldering?
