i finally figured that i was behind a firewall, and i had to forward my ip..now that i can get people to log on, i have a new problem.....i cannot log into other boards now, like tempest, or others..why?

Refer to #2 of previous post.
Please provide more information. What is the error you get when you try to log into other boards. What happens when you do this. Obviously you can http, can you ftp? Can you ping these boards? Try doing a tracert and see where it stops. More information = quicker, more accurate reply.

ok, sorry for the lack of information, when i try to telnet into say like realmud.com, it just say telnet error. How do i ping, with tracert ? for the ftp, i have no idea if i can have not tryied...do i goto a command prompt for the tracert...?

What *exactly* does it say when you try to telnet? Is it just from megamud, or is it from dos too? Did you set up your firewall to allow outgoing telnet connections when you fixed it? If a tracert works and gets there, it's your firewall. Go back into your firewall settings and check everything.

and btw gath... with ping or any other dos commands....
if you have windows 98 or ME (i think) or anything before... click start>run>command and type ping /? for more info
or windows 2000 or xp... start>run>cmd and ping /? for more info

WTF are you talking about dumbass? Anyone can do a tracert and return the same results relative to their location. I gave away MY information at work (of which you can get by getting my IP address and doing a tracert on ME). Shut up, nobody likes you.

192.168.0.1 is a private local address for use by your router.
