Does majormud/nmr have a way to restrict it so a character can only have 1 of a certain item in his inventory at any one time?

depends how you get the item... you could do it if you got the item through text blocks... like the neutral 3rd quest items (eternal flame etc)

*nod* that would work. It would just have to be loyal and nodrop. If you wanted a user to be able to get rid of it, you could set up another room w/ a textblock that would takeitem...

Text blocks are only set up to give a loyal + nodrop item? Also, do those text blocks allow for a drop%, so the item isn't always given?

he was saying make them loyal and no drop because otherwise people could drop them on the ground and then anyone else could get it.

Syntax answered the first part. The second part - set the text block up like a chest. You can do a random percentage.
