Updating Office XP Pro. [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Hi - I've installed (cough) office xp pro and have downloaded the service packs 1 and 2. However, when I try to run them, they get part way through and then stop with an error message saying they can't locate c:config.msi/Pt1.tmp or something very similar - retrying doesn't work and so I'm unable to install the service packs.

Can someone please tell me if there is a way around this and how I can get them installed.

All help and constructive comments are much appreciated.

Many thanks

The Emperor

Is it legit?

If you it's not and you are using a widely published serial #, it could be Microsoft's way of saying "nyah nyah."

Thats what they did with Windows XP

yeah but with windows xp you can change your serial # to an acceptable one and download sp1. but with office xp there is no way to do that. i say screw it, there are no major problems with office xp. i had the same thing happen to me though awhile ago, and i just said screw it
