rewrite the whole code? It's something hard coded if I'm not mistaken...it can't calculate over 4 something billion.

Several bbs's? You've seen BBS's that have monseters worth over 4 BILLION exp? Wow.
You may be thinking mod 8, where there was a 65k cap, mod 9 removed it. It also removed the exp cap on top lists, as well as level max (legit, there simply aren't trainers to train past 65, but it's possible if you make it).

I am refuring to player exp... not monster exp
so you can get past like level 62...
", as well as level max": this helped thanks

technically, you can train to level 65..
In order to train past:
1. Open Nightmare Redux
2. Editors>Shops
3. Example: Go to shop 135, Amazon Trainer (Amazon Battle Master, in Lost City)
4. Note the Min/Max LVL field, the first box being minimum level trainable, the max being the maximum level trainable. Change 52 to your desireable maximum level, for example, 100.
5. Compile an update, run the update.
Voila, you can train past 65.
In Mod 8, the max level trainable was 65, only if you stacked from 61, because at 62 you can no longer gain any exp. There WAS ways to fix this, but in mod 9 there is no need, it's already possible.
Hope this helped.

I know this is a stupid question (I am new to this whole thing) but what do you mean by "run the update"? What exactly does the compiling thing do? because I noticed that the changes automagicly take effect weather you compile or not...

it all depends on what dll ur using - some dlls don't access the wccupda2.dat at all - in this case, just edit the dats and don't worry about it - some dlls require the wccupda2.dat to be there, so u need to make ur edits, then compile one -
run it? - well, iv noticed if ur using the correct dll, u just need to toss the new update file in there, and wait for a cleanup and it will fix all of the other dats...
running it though might be following the 'u' apply an update option from the sysop menu in mud - or an off line recovery?
