I have a question about the "make available offline" feature that IE offers.



I wanna save a webpage so I'm setting it up to save 2 links deep from the main page. However, one of those links leads to a search engine. The *second* link leads to the search results from a rather big database.



My question is will IE try downloading the entire database? Because I would like to avoid that without having to save all the other pages individually. Any ideas?

no, it won't do that. The database , unless it's unsecure as hell, will not be downloadable. Just readable. If you really want, you can write a script to download every table in the dbase and recreate it your own...but as for IE actually saving the dbase. prolly not. If you want a whole website available offline, check out "Super Bot". It's a great website copier.

I don't want to download the database.. just all the other info on the website. Besides, crawling/spiders are a good way to get banned and that's the last thing I want there heh..

oh please i really doubt you're going to get banned from using a FCC regulated internet website "copying" tool. Just try it, it'll be worth it. Just tell the tool what part of the site you want downloaded and it will get it. If it's a high profile site, they won't even recongnize it...

As for the forums.. Last I checked, my question wasn't related to hardware, majormud/wg, setting up the network or general computer problems.

General PC Support includes general PC problems. That doesn't restrict it to hardware. If you would have opened up the forum and seen what was included, you might have been able to decipher that.
