The staff is cool because it puts a weird expression on your face when you shove it up your ass.

Since nobody wants to actually give you a usefull answer.
Golden Sickle 4-13 Damage +6 ACC +5 BS
Mod 8: Magical 2, Quality +3, Casts "Rip" (Damage (No AC) +2, Affects Living Only, 8 rounds) 10%, Crits +5, Mage / Mystic / Druid ok
Dropped by high druid 3%
Crescent Moon Staff 8-24 Damage 3/0 AC
Mod 8: Magical 3, Quality +3, Casts "Crescent Moon Staff" (Heal 20 to 40) 10 times per day, Mage / Mystic ok
Dropped by saracen high priest 25%
Now I always play a Mystic. With MudCentral I can only geuss they say Crescent Moon Staff for the AC only. I never use it. To many better weapons you can hold. It is pretty much up to the person playing the character. IMO keep the Golden.

NO NO NO..
Don't keep sickle
Use Crescent..
You do NOT get the +crits from the sickle while pu/kick/ju, ONLY WHILE USING THE SICKLE TO ATTACK. The crescent moon staff is way better, it adds to your AC.
With mystics, ANY +crits to weapons that are held does NOT effect punching, kicking, or jumpkicking, only attacking using the weapon.

Plat, do you have any documentation on this? I have always always been told by every person I have ever spoken to that crits are affected on a mystic by the sickle, thats why the sickle is such as saught after weapon by low mystics. Have you personally tested it? What were the cases? I have always thought that all weapon bonuses affect a character whether or not they are hitting with it, but I may be wrong. Just looking for a definitive answer.

yeah i always thought so also, speed.
i guess one way is to test it, control the variables. script with holding nothing and just puching or something, then script again with it, and each time see your crit%, and that shouldn't be a variable. if it's the same, then plat was right, if it's more, then speed/raybdbomb were right :)
