MajorMUD is like a text-based RPG. It's continuous, it can't be beaten..you can do all there is to do in it, but the game never ends. It's a bit rough to learn if you've never had any text-game experience..but I'm sure people here wouldn't mind teaching you how. But really it's your basic RPG in text format..you gain levels, have hps, mana, experience, armor, you can buy better armor as you level, some monsters give armor and/or limited items, as in maybe there are only 3 of one item allowed in the game..

The only really difference from normal visual RPG's is that you have to train to gain levels..you gain experience up until you level or you can "stack" levels, or just keep gaining experience until you are able to train 2 or more levels at a time.

There are different races that each have their own uniqueness..some suck, some don't, some suck for certain classes but are awesome for other classes. The Race you choose determines your Statistics (Strength, Intellect, Wisdom(Willpower), Health, Agility, Charm). As you gain levels, you get a certain amount of Character Points, or CPs, that you can raise one of your stats a certain amount. Say you start with 40 Health, and 100 CP's. The first 10 points you add to a statistic only require 1 CP per point. You can raise Health to 50 and still have 90 CP's left. As you continue to train the stat, however, it takes more CPs to do it. Raising it after 50 requires 2 cps per point, so if you raise it to 60 you would have 70 cps left. If you raise it to 70 you would have 40 CPs left, etc etc.

There are different classes, you can be say a Priest who gets Priest-3 spells (all spells of the type) or you can be a Missionary/Cleric who are Priest-2, they get all spells except those considered priest-3, they also have less mana and lower mana regeneration. Paladins are Priest-1, they get the lowest mana and the lowest mana regen, and the least amount of spells for that spell-classification.

There are 5 spell classifications. Priest being one, there are also Druid spells, Mage spells, Bardic spells, and Kai or Mystic powers. All have advantages and disadvantages, there are really no "god" types that are better than the rest.

The class you pick (Priest, Druid, Missionary, Ninja, Warrior, etc) has an EXP percentage that is based on the bonuses that class gets. Like a Warrior is a baseline character, no special abilities at all. They're 100% exp. Then you have Priests who are 140% exp with their own advantages and disadvantages and so on. Same goes for your Race (Human, Gnome, Elf, Dwarf, etc) but their EXP percentages are much lower as they don't carry as much weight of gameplay as your Class, your race just determines the statistics of your class and some abilities as well.

It's early..tell me if this confuses you..I'd sit here and explain more but..I have to work.. :hump: :hump: :hump:
