How the #### do I make it actually retrieve a newly updated page when I hit refresh!??!

(p.s. yes, I've tried clearing the stupid cache)
That's one thing Netscape did better :)

How did ya do it? Just cleared the history or what? That happened to me with netscape awhilez ago too...

Well uhh.. Netscape is easy... First, I don't believe netscape caches CGI scripts. Second, when you hit reload on NS, it actually does that :shocked:
IE, on the other hand caches cgi's. You have to trick it into thinking you are loading a new page. How? Just add a "?adsfasfdasdfasdf" on the end of the script. (note this only works on the main page..which is the only page there are problems with anyway.) The "?afsdadsfadsf" is just a random variable that tricks IE into thinking you are loading a new page.

I was flirtin with disaster when I decided to search for something I posted a long long long time ago with Pantharen, which I never found. But I felt that as a True Canadian, it's my god given right to revive a VERY LONG DEAD POST.
And yes IE does suck at the best of times.

firefox 0.9 is the best browser that exists
and now with the browser id hack you can say that you're the googlebot and get into some paid sites like IGN insider... :)

btw, Control+F5 (or hold control and click refresh) is supposed to force IE to get a new page as well
