MMB and it's many changes

I'd like to address an issue that has been brought to my attention recently, by several individuals. First of all, every time something changes at MMB, people always give the admins, especially me, negative attitudes. Attitudes like "oh, that's never going to work" or "it was better the old way" or why change something that worked", etc.

Everything we've done since the beginning have turned out for the better.

In the beginning, everyone at Metro's forums laughed because we would never build a following of members. Look who's laughing now.

In the beginning, everyone at Metro's forums laughed because Ikonboard was too complicated to use vs. their old Matt's BB script. Months afterwards, Metro switched their forum script to something more complicated. I'm confused.

Then, we got a lot of heat about allowing hexing topics. People thought Metro would shut us down. We're still here almost 2 years later and MMB is the #1 source for majormud editing information.

MMB users were reserved when I changed Ikonboard from version 2 to version 3. Then they fell in love with it.

Then, we migrated to vBulletin. Again, people cried out, but they gradually grew to like it.

Now I seem to hear talk that MMB is falling? That there's too much nonsense floating around a Majormud forum? Let me just say traffic is up 20-30% since last month and majormud is pretty much dead so I'm not going to depend on that to bring more traffic. I started a lot of these Off Topic threads as a test to see if it would affect traffic. Many don't realize Off Topic sections are usually one of the biggest section in any forum these days.

In the beginning, I didn't make MMB for profits or glory. I only did it so Sysops could have a place to talk about how to edit their realms. I haven't made a penny off of MMB but I'd like to eventually transform MMB into something bigger - something that doesn't limit itself to Majormud. Something, perhaps, I could make a few bucks off of. If I never make any money off of MMB, that's fine but I still want to try. My administrators have put in a lot of time into MMB and I do want to reward them if possible.

So, in conclusion, I really don't care about the off topic posting as long as it's not all flames or spam. If you came for majormud information and don't want to read "nonsense" posts, then avoid the General Nonsense forum. It's as easy as that.

Well then, those people who bitch can just go in a closest and spank their monkies!

To be honest, I disliked how the home page has alot of links to the left of the news but shrug, i got over it...this forum is still hella better than metroshits, at least u CAN be perverted, flirt with someone (and not have everyone bitch about it) and theres no brown-nosing shits here like Remik.

Way back when metro took over Dan's site, I use to get along very well with melnor,Titania, and Remik. People bitched about our constant bs so I was asked by Titania and Shannon to cool with it so I said fine.

Then they made the new forums and they made Melnor and Remik forum sysops..Now I like Melnor, still do actually but Remik is a fing prick. Anyone whos seen his pic will see what I mean.

Hes one of those guys who looks so full of himself.

I got banned NOT because of the shit with Omega but because I supported hexing mmud, I told Remik and a few other sysops what I thought of them and because I emailed Shannon telling her to go shove that Nazi runned forum up her baby laying ASS!!!

So keep up the good work guys and think on this...

Mmud will die soon and everyone who hates us will be crying and depressed over how a game was cancelled!

I think the most important thing to remember is that Aragon has run this place for 2 years. Now everyone might have good ideas, but I think he's shown he knows what he's doing. [/suckup]

And no, I'm still not singing for you! :hammer:

Finally, if you're not kosher with that...suck on a big dill :D

Should just try and find a way to merge Boonism with MMB or vice versa.

That wouldn't really work for a few reasons - The main one being MMB and Boonism have almost nothing in common.

I don't recall complaining about the forums ever..I could be wrong, it was a while ago since a major change (minus the front page, which I supported). Whether this forum gets as much traffic as Metro's or not doesn't matter..the fact is, this forum gives a lot of people something to do, things to think about, ideas to spread. You people shouldn't complain, you should be thankful.

Whoever says MMB is dying...I don't think it'll ever go down, I won't stop posting here, I know Xetox, Ray, Admiral, and a few others (not in the right state of mind to think at the moment) also feel the same way.

Keep it up, Administrators.

Bah. i somewhat read the first message but not a goddamn thing after that... It took me awhile to get used to the new MMB format but shit.. I dont even remember what the old one was like. Things must change to remain up to date... to remain modern... to remain "in". I've never been a big fan of "in"... but if even so, when you have something you want to make a success out of, you keep it up and remain "in". Like I said I dont even remember how MMB was setup before, and that was like a month ago. Fuckin alcohol... anyway. It rocks... when every new message isnt about how somebody is gay, then this place is awesome. Keep it up Aragaon. People will adapt, or they'll go away. If they go away... they weren't serious to begin with.
