I have importing for all the dats (minus users and bankbooks) working. I haven't written any options for you to export or import only a certain range of records. When importing however, there is an option to either skip or update existing recods. It logs every operation to a textfile as well so you can see what was done.



If you were importing someone's edited records and you knew their records didn't conflict with yours, you could simply select 'skip existing records' and you'd be fine.



If you wanted to have some records updated, like textblocks for new classes and such, then either you or the person sending them to would need to have Microsoft Access (or another program that can edit MS Access databases). In this case you would export all of the databases needed and then simply delete the records you didn't need to send. Or if you were the one importing, you would delete the records that you've edited yourself so they don't overwrite.



Should I take the time to write options to only export or import certain ranges of records? It would be a lot of code to write in order to make work. I'm also working on the quest editor too.

It'd definitely be helpful, especially if you're working on just one area of the game, etc. If you didn't get it done for now, the import feature alone would be a godsend :thumbu: Make it easier to share data with co-hexers and what not. Good show dude!

What's the status of the next release syntax? Don't let the laziness of others get ya down, a lot of us do appreciate all your hard work.

v0.6.7 will be out in a few days. I wrote options to export only a range of records and importing seems to be working good. not sure if i'll have the quest editor done in a decent amount of time or not.
