I'm looking to start learning how to write programs for windows, does anyone have suggestions what language to learn first, and or sites where I can get these programs? (yes I know I'm a programming nubie). Any Ideas, suggestions would help. Thanks.
Illuv.

alright i just typed a long explanation, but my f*cked up internet here at work screwed up the submission so here's the deal
learn c/c++ if you are serious about programming
VB will come easily after that.

I have a bunch of PDF ebooks to get you started.
Teach yourself C in 21 days, Teach yourself Borland C 4
and C Faq you should know.
I'll put these up on my ftp site at ftp://tsgc.dyndns.org
in the Wgstuff dir, since Wg was written in Borland C too.

Java is much slower than any C/C++ coded programs. hell, it's slower than VB coded programs...

i take that back about deitel books. the c++ book sucks, the java book is alright - i only read a section out of it about multi threading and it was not bad.
