3 free boards w/ DoorMUD Pro needing players...
EverMUD -- telnet://24.22.130.222 -- 3x exp tables, hard mode, 350 fights/day -- Just reset, brand new game, most limiteds still available!
CovBBS -- telnet://128.118.226.180 -- 3x exp tables, hard mode, 350 fights/day -- back online full time now.
Lost Gonzo BBS -- telnet://lost-gonzo.com -- 1x exp tables, 35 fights/day (hopefully sysop is changing this soon). Worth a look to see how smoothly DoorMUD runs under Worldgroup at least tho.
Pretty soon I'll have the instructions for running DoorMUD on WG done.. I just got done adding online credit-card ordering to my site too. Things look good -- now the game just needs more hardcore players

derr, that original post is 14 months old so yeah those boards aren't around anymore...
for a current list of free telnet boards running doormud, hit up http://dmud.thebbs.org/lotflink.htm -- most aren't that active (other than maybe xbit and vortex) but if a couple of you all go to the same bbs, who knows, maybe it'll get fun.
I'm still working on the game, the beta of the loooong-overdue World Editor should be out in a month.
After that I'm starting on a brand new MUD project which hopefully will make a bigger impact on the MUD community. It will be able to run as a doorgame OR as an independent telnet/rlogin server; it will be MUCH more sysop configurable; it will have full support for 3rd-party modules... and much more
Pricing should be decent too... the *freeware* version will support:
- Unlimited doorgame user count
- Unlimited telnet user count
- 4 user count for rlogin
- Stock game world of around 800 rooms or so
- Full editor program
Initial available addons will include:
- Rlogin user count upgrade (intended for WG boards... probably around $40 for unlimited rlogin users)
- Two game world modules for higher-level players (at around $10 each probably)
- C++ source code (possibly... will probably be around $50)
Keep an eye out...:) Still in the VERY early development stages though.

if you are starting on new mud , make it a graphical one

Probably, but I haven't decided for sure... I might give 50% credit (ie, if you already have a basic dmud reg, that'd be worth a $10 discount on modules for the new mud), might give 100% credit, might give nothing... dunno yet
Keep in mind the pricing structure for the new MUD is a bit different, since the free version already has no max level and no max user count (except for rlogin)... it just has a small stock game world, but, it'll be very easy to edit to make your own areas.
I might just do a system where you get free mods if you submit your own decent mods... or I might have a system where 3rd party developers can actually *sell* their mods themselves... it's all still up in the air, since again this project is still extremely early in development
But as for Aragon's question -- sorry, it definitely won't be graphical, I don't have the interest / time / programming skills / artistic ability to do that. But since I'll probably have the source code available for sale, someone could integrate a graphical server into the game engine if they had the programming skills.
