Many people have differing opinions. Many don't have their own, and just follow someone with a strong opinion and charisma (or one of each).
Opinion..its one of the basic rights of all living things, because, without it, you are no better than the person next to you. Especially if that person is a sociopath.
Yet, what we always end up doing, is atempt to force our opinons on others. They do not believe what we believe...they are wrong...lets teach them whats right, and belittle them until they believe it.
This has been the way of man for centuries. White man settled in the Americas, and the indians did not believe as they did...so they killed them or converted them...The British Empire did the same thing to Africa and its countrymen.
The Romans wiped out the pagans because of a differing belief. Many wars were based on this..the Nazi holocaust..The pagan persecutions..the Salem witch trials. All evidence of man thinking that the right to your own opinion was only valid if that opinion was the same as those with the power.
Did the Protestants not leave England because of their persecutions? And then they came to America and began the same persecutions years later! This country was founded under the principles of freedom. Freedom of speech; freedom of religionl; freedom from prejudices. What has this country become? A country founded on these principles that has turned around and bent those principles into hollow words that mean nothing more than the paper they are written on.
