**warning.. after typing all this i realized its one hell of a long, run-on, drunken paragraph... expect bad grammar and redundancy... **
ok, well once i get nice and fucked up, for some reason that seems the time to try to figure things out with that fucking laptop.... ive decided to see if without fucking anything up i can fix the usb port, but thats a longshot im thinking... (btw this is that sony vaio pcg-sr17 ..full model in case it matters..) im referring to... being that it was built so brilliantly as to only have 1 usb, 1 pcmcia, 1 ilink port... thanks to you guys input ive figured we will get the pcmcia -> dual usb card.. that works great to hookup the floppy drive and a usb network card.. but what im wondering now is how picky are laptops in regards to hardware, as ive said before i know jack shit about laptops, the bigger the computer is the better i work with it heh.. cuz we are left with the pcmcia dvd drive, and no way to hook it up with either usb device connected... ive looked around the "accessories" for this model, and the only cd drive ive seen is pcmcia... im assuming usb cdroms that can connect to laptops do exist... but would it have to be something specifically compatible with this model of vaio, or would i be able to find a usb cdrom that would be compatible? seems to me if its usb, it could connect to a desktop or laptop, which to me seems like it would work on any laptop... but i figured i might as well go for some more input here, you guys were pretty helpful with the info before... hell i dunno where to go when i ask to have something about a computer, everyone i know asks me =)
