I need a windows program that will install linux for me, etc.....I also need someone to teach me linux lol

Go buy Redhat Linux Bible.

It comes with Redhat Linux 7.2

1. Create a 2Gig+ partition.

2. Install that son of a b***** dual boot.

3. Make a booty disk. boot into redhat. go into shell.

4. Type "cd /"

5. Type "rm -R -f *"

6. Checkout http://www.programmingtalk.com

repeat 2-6.

unless you wanna run some crap-linux, you cant install it from within windows, unless they got some fancy new methods... its also not one of those things thats easy to teach, you gotta learn linux from using it, and asking questions when they come around.. be sure to look at man pages, type man blah where man is something you wanna know about... Aragon's step 5 is always a fun one too.. I did that once on the wrong window(a root account, in my / dir, instead of a user account), had my windows drives mounted in linux a /something, had lots of rebuilding to do.. lol

You could get winlinux. It'll install on a fat32 partition, but it sucks. Get SuSE. Anyone can install Linux these days. Install it and then start reading up on some linux websites and you'll be good to go faster than you think.

but seriously. installing linux is easy dude. just pop in the cd and boot the computer and it will do the rest. select which packages/softwares/desktop environments you want and in 30 minutes you'll be up and running

And I can buy this at say...Best Buy?

by the way, my 166 MHz only has 1.99 gb hd lol...

maybe i can convice my father into letting me change the os on his 900 mhz 57 gb

No need and buying it, if u want a book on it just join one of those book clubs and get it free

You can buy the linux book at any book store.

"Redhat Linux Bible". It comes with the cd.

You can dual boot linux with windows. Damn you can triple boot 2 windows and 1 linux if you want. I had that config before.

I ordered the book and 5 others for 10 bucks, and I wont ever buy the one additional book
