TradeWars 2002

i installed Tradewars 2002 but i got a error when i went to start WG saying cant open TW please check your manual on creating the universe. am i missing something?
I'd imagine you need to follow the error's suggestion and create (initialize) the universe. From what I remember, there's a utility contained in the installation folder that will do this for you - after you set up the options, obviously (number of sectors, location of starbases, etc).
If all else fails, follow the other suggestion and RTFM.
