Is there a way to increase the User capability to accomodate more than 255 users? would there be a way to up it to say 1000 active users? or is there other software that would allow for a larger clientell like that?

is there even still 255 people who still even play?

I could be completely wrong, but I think 256 is the max users for WG. For some unknown reason I recall reading some history of WG thing, and it seemed like the history of WG really was the software going from 8->16->32->256 users, and that was about it.

But I really don't know what people have been doing with it in the past 10 years. Apparently people are still working on it.

I have a crazy idea for getting some interest back into the game... dont even have to make edits, stock board is more than enough... There is a facebook game that kind of room based RPG.. no live action at all, only thing that they have that mmud doesnt is some pictures of monsters and your char. they have a user base of 20k and the developers lost interest in development and there is some interest from a good amount of users that have never played a mud before that want to try something new to them. Interestingly enough we who have mudded for years wouldnt find a stock mud interesting, but they dont know any better and are lucky if that realm has 2k rooms in it total for all players and no grouping... So like i said, there is some interest, but im trying to see if there is a way to accomodate a larger user base

I've seen as high as 140 players on our board (running 2 realms) at one time.

Granted at least half of those are dupes, but regardless I think at some point we will break 255 online users, but it's not a problem since we're not using WG.
