Been a long time since I posted here, but there has been many many updates since I last posted about the World of Warcraft server I help maintain so here the deal.

Tradewinds has evolved into Wowlegacy. We now have three realms, Deathwing (Battlegrounds PVP server with custom rewards and PVP scripts written by our development team), Orion (10x experience realm) and Legion (Blizzlike 3x rates).

At any time between all three servers we have around 2000+ players on and are the #1 rated private WOW server on the xtreme top100 list, the largest private MMORPG listing out there.

We have a ventrillo server as well for voice chat communications and a staff of about 40 people. The servers are hosted on 2 Quad Core Xeons in a datacenter and the logon/database server is hosted on a dual core Xeon, also the website uses gluster web clustering software across 2 dual core xeons. i'm total n00b but want to get started. how do i do that?

These are called "legacy" because they don't have Wrath of the Lich King, yes?

Well I tell you man Ive been playing on scape for about a year and a half but for like the last month or so its been damn near impossible to even log in. Something to do with losing the one coder they have and now they have a new one who I keep seeing posts about how he is going to fix everything and yet I cant even log in. So as it happens Im looking for a new server to play on even though I will have to start from scratch it would be worth it just to be able to play.

What version is your server? Do you have wotlk? What is your average up time? Believe it or not my 60 year old mother is addicted to wow. She played on scape for a few months and now she is giving me an attitude because no one can log in lol. I told her I would find another private server because we tried retail and its sucks.

I was a GM on Wowscape at one time, as was many of our staff members, I won't get into the politics of us VS ScapeGaming, it would take too long. But yes, we are WoTLK content positive and running a server for 3.1.x at this time with our own independent C++ and SQL development team working on fixes.

Yeah believe me payton is no stranger to drama so I know the story. Probably not the whole story but enough to get the idea. In my opinion they cant really bitch considering the very lax job they are doing over there not to mention the general attitude you get from the GM's. Some of those guys are really dicks. I have been playing on your orion server for a bit now and I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the way things run. I get booted alot but I have never seen the game go down for more than a few minutes which is good. In fact the only complaint I have is the drop rates for the orion server. Its dang hard to get eq over there especially since the economy seems to be still pretty new. But besides that you guys did a really good job. Thanks for the info.

Update, Wowlegacy's Battleground scripts have been updated to include new PVP rewards. Also I've started coding of Ulduar. Unit based vehicles were removed from the client so it's back to square one for some Unit based mobs.
