Southern Cali up in flames!

Yet again.... Who's got marshmallows?

You'd think people in Malibu would learn from the last fire to ravage the million dollar homes, but noooo.. Let's rebuild em and let the fire take over again.

Thankfully, my neck of the woods is spared this time around. /knocks on wood..

How bout you, Ghaleon? I see a big ass fire in Escondido / Ramona area. You anywhere near there?

The fire in Malibu was the first, started by a few downed power lines. Then the firebugs decided to come out and lend a hand by starting fires in Ontario, Escondido and Lake Arrowhead.

Roommate's brother-in-law is an arson investigator. Talked to him earlier this morning. As sad as it is to be jazzed over all the burning going on, he's getting hella overtime at $86.75/hr.

Boss tried to get me to come to work.. i got down to the 76 and went west to the 5... then said fuck it because the traffic was getting so bad and i turned around. Friend of mine picked up quicksilver's server and will hopefully be delivering it to my house later today. Had to do the old 'hold for 5 sec' shutdown but that shouldnt fuck it up too bad.

Also where im at there are major dust storms and 80mph winds blowing.. been like that for 2 days now. Hopefully the dust will stop the sun from catching anything out here on fire.

meh, hopefully i have somethin to head home to in a couple weeks. never f'in phails tho, think the summer is the end of fire season but noo. guess that earthquake a bit ago wasnt enuf excitement for ya. at least i get to drive thru ontario on the way home, and give a chuckle to the inlanders that arent as rich as the malibans who seem to rotate thru new houses on the same property every year. just keep it out of sfv, at least till i find work and someplace else to live

Kinda hard to tell the smoke clouds from the dust.. At my pad it's calm, but just 10 miles away the wind's trying to blow you off the road.

After a terribly dry season, and the fires that predictably follow, you know we're going to have a repeat of the torrential downpours and flooding of 3-4 years ago.

I gotta move out of this state..

Ok, I'll get started on the FHQ combine here in Michigan. We got a nicer waterfront, and it's not salt water. For a low low down payment, you guys can all move out here and join my cult...err...combine..um..nevermind.

Over 750,000 people currently evacuated from their homes. Thousands of homes and businesses destroyed, even more still threatened by fire.

San Diego and surrounding cities have gotten the worst of it, with at least half of the evacuees coming from that area.

I could see the flames from my house on Tuesday evening, burning down from Running Springs. Luckily the wind changed, blowing the fires back northeast.

Now that we've got adequate air support it seems we're making headway, though the fires in the San Bernardino Mountains are still 0% contained.

Getting real tired of the smoke, that's for damn sure.

Yeah I just moved my server back to my office and everyones back in here today. The smoke outside is horrible and it was hard to breathe just driving down here. If its anything like the cedar fires 4 years ago the air will be pretty bad for weeks afterwards. The great part is all the falling ash that is going to be everywhere as well.

But look at it this way at least Malibu is safe!!!

I can see the smoke from my house in Menifee from the fire in Fallbrook. I dont know if its making its way north or what but a friend of mine that lives in Temecula said he can hardly breathe where hes at.

Nice thinking about all the plastics, chemicals, asbestos, etc in the air that we are all breathing in down here!
