Ok so apparently my piece of shit truck is in limp mode... The feedback solenoid shuts down to protect the engine from damage. What the hell does a feedback solenoid do anyway... So my truck is running really rich. IS it possible to lean out a feedback carb without going thru the electronics? (I dont have the cash to replace the POS) I picked up and dumped a whole thing of carb cleaner into the throttle body today, jesus that shit stinks. blew out a ton of blue/gray smoke, however I did notice (I think it was the choke) a plate wide open, even with the engine hot?

What or who told you it's specifically the feedback solenoid?

I'm not trying to rule that out, but who knows.

A good fairly inexpensive way to start, would be rebuilding the carb. Your feedback solenoid is carb related to begin with, so rebuilding the carb just may take care of the issue. Being that the feeback solenoid is computer driven, there needs to be a scan tool to give you some readings. I'm not sure if you could take the part off and have AutoZone do a test. They do test most parts though, so it might be worth your time to call and ask if they could test smaller parts.

I talked to a Mazda Mechanic, and he gave me some free advice on those carbs.



I'm in the Great Wet North, we dont have Autozone, or Shucks, or any of those great places. We have Canadian Tire (crappy tire), LordCo (ripoff kings), NAPA (idiots), VAP (expensive) none of them have test equipment available to the public without paying thru the nose for.

Its only expensive to live here. But at least I dont have a government that wants to control the world.. No offence, but living in Canada is a hell of alot better than parts of the US, or anywhere else in the world.
