Alrgiht so Im buyin a car and my decision has come down to these two both are used both have close to 50,000 miles and both are the same price range.. the bodys on both are in great shape as is the interior.



i was wonderin if anyone had any input on either of these cars

both are 2002's as well both 5 speeds haha they both are pretty similar... the escort zx2's engine has a little bit higher output then the focus... but the focus gets a couple more miles to the gallon... any input would be appreciated

I own a focus and a neon. While driving, the focus feels much more smooth. The exceleration gears through nice and easy, the handling seems nice and stiff. It blew a gaskit around 50k miles.

The neon is zippy and fun to stomp around town. But just don't feel as nice. Shrug.

I would go with the focus because gas is only going to go up in price, Just MO though.

There's alot to take into consideration when choosing between these two cars. The first and most important is what motors these two have. i'm assuming they both probably have the zetec motor. If you don't drive a high hp motor already then this probably won't matter to you. If you don't work on your own car then this probably won't mean anything to you. From a mechanical perspective. Go with the focus. Escorts have always been pricey and a big pain to work on. Unless they have the mazda 4banger. I don't think they still put those into them though. i think it was a 1.9 or 1.8. something like that. The focus not only is more stylish and less gay looking. but it will be a more dependable car for your money.
