Greetings,

Now that the board has been opened to the public, and people are starting to log on, the founding members of the BBS and myself have all agreed that a realm reset is in order, as well as a few changes to the balance of the realm. As of sometime tonight, the following changes will be in effect:

Instant Regens:Cave Worm: 3K Exp -> 1100 Exp, cash drop *removed*Lindwurm: 2500 Exp -> 1350 Exp, cash drop *removed*Two-Headed Hellhound: 10K Exp -> 2K Exp, cash drop *removed*White Werewolf: 15K Exp -> 7500 Exp, cash drop *removed*Slime Beast: 6K Exp -> 1750 Exp, cash drop *removed*Quasimodo: 6.5K Exp -> 3200 Exp, cash drop *removed*

Other Changes:All NON-IR mobs cash drops x3COMPLETE Realm Reset.Everything else stays as described in above post.SuperSysop will be trained to level 20, and will not be actively played beyond that point. He will no longer be available for retrains or shopping trips to the Lost City.Retrains: Only for a damned good reason. "I don't wanna walk back from " is not one of them.

NOTE: This only affects the CTO-MMUD Realm. The OOB-MMUD Realm has not been modified in any way, shape or form.

We're performing this reset because as the BBS goes public, we want everyone to have an equal and balanced mudding experience, and as things are setup currently, this is not possible.

If you try to access DeathBlow and find it down today, just keep tryng, it will not be down long.

Reset has been completed, and I don't plan on another one for a *really* long time. The board is pretty well balanced, and the MUD should take care of itself at this point.

Come check us out and Happy Mudding!

DeathBlow BBS, as some of you may have already known, was temporarily running on my personal windows box until a suitable machine could be found for it.

Well, we found one! DeathBlow BBS is now on it's own P-III 866 w/512MB RAM and a 20GB Hard Drive The webserver and ftp server have also been updated to the very best in open source technology (apache2/filezilla ftpd).

Expect a much better BBS from these changes, folks! DeathBlow BBS is HERE TO STAY!

On a Side Note: Well, actually it's more of a MAIN NOTE, as far as I'm concerned. I'd like to take a minute to thank the loyal users of DeathBlow for bearing with me through this transition. It was a rather rough one riddled with hardware failures, lack of proper tools/accessories, and was very irritating and time consuming. I just want to say thank you again, guys, for being understanding and patient. It has DEFINATELY paid off! You guys ROCK!

Hey guys,

Took a little work, but the Website is UP and the forums are open. I'm working on downloads as we go along. MME Dats are already available. Soon full loops and paths for all new areas will be added.

If you play on DeathBlow and you found us here, check out the website!

If you don't play on DeathBlow, then check out DeathBlow BBS - Who said BBS' were dead?

DAMMIT MAN

Hey folks, I went to reboot the BBS box this morning, and it froze during bootup. I've been through every system service and startup option possible via safe mode, and It's still freezing up. I've tried every possible memory/device configuration that I have to no avail. I am currently installing Win2K-Pro, and am going to thoroughly test every step of the process as I go.

There is no current ETA for the BBS being back up, suffice to say that I will not sleep until it is running again. All data is backed up to my main PC, so nothing is lost.

Wish me luck...

BBS is back up and running. I dunno what burr got stuck up XP's rump, but we're on 2K Pro now, and everything is ship-shape.

Thanks for hangin in there, folks...

Hey folks,

I was kinda wanting to wait until Global Gossip was released before posting any more updates about DeathBlow BBS, but there's a lot going on over here, and ggos has hit a couple of snags, so I figured I'd give you all an interim update.

First, I've appointed Looney CoSysop of DeathBlow BBS, and given him complete control over the CTO-MMUD realm. I, myself, have taken to the administration of the normal-exp realm (formerly OOB). I have appointed Shopi and Orange as MudOps in the normal-exp realm, and they are doing a wonderful job.

I mentioned the normal-exp realm as formerly OOB, because I've polled the users, and the general consensus is that edits are okay, as long as the realm stays balanced. That being said, there is a new area/quest in the works, and currently being ironed out on the forums at http://deathblow.dyndns.org/modules....viewtopic&t=43.

We now have a copy of the ORIGINAL mbbs Graffiti Wall ported to WG especially for DeathBlow BBS, and have also added Arctic Global Chat v5.0beta, a world-exclusive module.

I've gotten things ironed out and working great with the website, and we're growing by leaps and bounds!

If you haven't already checked us out, point your telnet client to deathblow.dyndns.org and become part of our community!

If you are already a member of DeathBlow BBS, let me take a minute here to thank you for making us such a roaring success!

These are great days, people

Hey folks!

I've made some major updates to the web server, mainly by way of setting up web and ftp space to users who have requested it. I've also added a list of users who have websites to the left side of the main page, and installed and setup a popular content management system for them, so they may easily administer their online presence at DeathBlow BBS.

The portal/cms is not mandatory, but rather put there for convenience. Users who decide to write their own webpage may simply delete the contents of their www folder and begin anew.

In the next couple of days, I will be adding a 'Who's on the BBS' module/block, as well as a full-ANSI java telnet client.

These are exciting times for our little corner of the net! If you haven't already, stop by and check us out! If you're already a member, THANK YOU for helping to make us great!
