Excerpts:
9:30AM - "MSRP: $249. One price, one config, one color: white. This simplicity allows us to maximize volume throughout the Americas. Our shipment goal worldwide is 4M consoles during the 43 days between launch and Dec 31. The Americas will receive the largest share, a continuous flow of units."
9:33AM - Reggie is back. "No doubt, this reminds you of the tennis demo we did at E3. And now, Wii Boxing, as well -- all part of Wii Sports disc -- Wii Tennis, Wii Golf, Wii Baseball, Wii Bowling, Wii Boxing."
9:35AM - Wii Sports will be included with the console. Continued...
They go on to talk about things like cost for games, both for the wii and on the virtual console, periphreal costs, etc.
I can't sneak one into the budget, but am looking forward to going to friend(s) house to play it :)

I want one :)
but, it's yet another generation of consoles where Nintendo's will be the weakest as far as graphics and power. They'll need to rely on ingenuity of their console specific games (like wii tennis et. al) for success.
Perhaps this one can succeed just as the DS did. Hopefully it won't turn into another Gamecube.

This thing is going to make a bundle, and it's all in the virtual console.
They've already started liscensing non-nintendo games (altered beast is a launch title) for download at one of the 3 flat rates (5/8/10$). They have the potential to steal much of gametap's market.
1:38 a.m. EST [update 7]: Famitsu reports 30 Nintendo games and 30 PC Engine/Megadrive (Turbo-Grafx/Genesis) games before end of year. Ten new virtual console games every month after that!

X-box has tried two huge launches in Japan, with not so much fanfare. If they can pull this off and saturate the Americas with Wii's, it'll both be a slap to the face to Microsoft, and also reduce future sales for them.
Not to mention, Japan will buy these. In droves. They're getting them aprox. $80 cheaper (without addons), and so there's a lot less marketing that needs to be done at launch. It's going to sell there regardless.
Fat stupid Americans will see Wii's in large piles everywhere they go this holiday season. They'll remember how much the 360 costs. They'll hear from the kid down the road who mows lawns that the PS3 is going to cost $600. They'll here at the PTA meeting about how family-friendly Nintendo is. CNN will run a 2-minute blurb about some fat kid losing 20lbs playing Wii Sports.
Needless to say, I think it's going to blow up. It's not going to be better, or prettier then the other consoles, but that's not going to matter. It's going to sell, all over the world.
