They aren't really new, as they toured with Tool last year.

Meshuggah, whose name is taken from the Hebrew and Yiddish word for "crazy," is a five-piece tech metal band from Umeå, Sweden who use extended polymetric passages, complex drum patterns, odd time signatures, angular, dissonant guitar riffs, and harsh, atonal vocals.

I've had a few people compare the band we spoke of in another post, Bloodsimple, to these guys. Can't say I've ever listened to them though.

I'm a metalhead, but by no means would I claim to be really "in" to music. Just that when I do have some time to listen, it's normally edgy and fast.
