My 1990 honda accord finally died after about 3 years of problems.



i need a relatively new car (>2000) with no problems, reliable and cheap.

Get a used Saturn SL1. I have a 2001 thats been ver reliable and when new I only paid like 19k for it.

I wonder what they go for now.

I'm looking to spend ~4-8k.

Get a Jeep. Grand Cher if you can, otherwise wrangler. They are solid as a rock. Im going to be buying a 2006 Grand Cher if I dont purchase a house in the next 2 months. I currently have a 2000 Grand Cher.



I have several friends that have switched to them as well, one of them has gone over 200,000 miles with no issues.



...and trust me, i beat the shit out of my cars and this ones survived up to 100,000 so far.

Jeeps definitely take a beating. You gotta look at what you want to spend vs what your insurance rates are going to be vs the gas mileage. Suggestions are great, but in the end, its something you're gonna have to figure out yourself. If you have a limited weekly budget for gas, you're gonna want a small car. Jeeps aren't necessarily gas guzzlers, but at three bucks a gallon, anything under 25mpg is damn near out of my range of expenses. My car shit the bed a few months ago and I get someone to take me into work at 6am and then I ride my bike home 18 miles every day.. can't really complain, never felt better. Made it home in just under an hour yesterday, quicker than public transportation can get me there.

look at the ford focus'. The used ford focus is a fine car.

ford is not too bad just have to check at www.insurancepaylite.com first just to see different companies current prices before signing the dotted line, used to pay $210 for my monthly premium before.
