FHQ Fantasy Football League? [Archive] - ForumsHQ

All right now, I need to know if there's interest in a fantasy football league this year, hopefully consisting of all fhq members, or at least a good portion. I've run my own private league (with keepers, and about $400 cash prizes) for 6 years now, and would be more than willing to setup something nice and simple that people can enjoy.
If you've never played fantasyball before, I can tell you it'll add a whole new depth to Sundays for you. If you're watching football already (or "stuck" watching for you ladies out there), it gives you other players to cheer for other than . The basic premise goes like this: You setup your list of players for the autodraft (or let yahoo do it for you). Each team gets assigned(drafted) players for the positions of Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Tight End, Kicker, and Defense. Trades are allowed between teams (within the rules), and free agents are available if you want to swap players off your team. Each week, you'll be playing head-to-head against another person, and you decide which players you'd like to "start" on your team. These players are the only ones that will gain you points for the week. Points are given for various things (passing/rushing/receiving yards, touchdowns), and taken away for other things (fumbles, interceptions).
And that's the basic idea behind it all. I like to run leagues with 12 players, but 10 will do. Anything less, and everyone has "Super-Team", which makes it a little less exciting. I encourage anyone who's interested to play, I just ask that you try and tough it out all year, good or bad, because I hate seeing people miss the playoffs because someone else got to win their last game against Player X who quit 3 weeks ago. I'm not interested in making this a money game, just something to do amongst friends.
Post a reply, let me know if there's any interest, and I'll demolish...I mean...see ya'll on the field! :)
